Free Tax Assistance

AARP volunteers will provide free tax preparation and e-filing assistance for seniors, age 60 and over, and others with a low to moderate income of not more than $49,000. Assistance is provided on a first come, first serve basis. Please be sure to bring all relevant documents with you - photo ID, social security card, earning and divident statements, copies of last year's federal and state tax returns, and proof of bank account numbers for direct deposit. Volunteers will be available on Wednesdays 10-3 and Thursdays 12-8 from Feb 6 - Apr 11.

Child Guidance is offering developmental and speech/language screenings. A developmental screening is a very general look at how children are doing compared to other children the same age. Teen Writing Workshop

Child Development Screenings

Child Guidance is offering developmental and speech/language screenings at the libraries once again! A developmental screening is a very general look at how children are doing compared to other children the same age. At a screening appointment, your child's developmental progress will be assessed. Any questions or concerns you may have about your child's development or behavior will be discussed. Information about upcoming stages and home activities will be given. Tai Chi for Better Balance

Tai Chi for Better Balance is a modified 8 step form of Tai Chi which focuses on weight shifting and low impact movement exercise to improve balance and mobility endorsed by the Oklahoma City County Health Department. Join certified Tai Chi instructor Ron Loving for this 12 week series.

Tai Chi

Evidence suggests that Tai Chi is an effective means of improving balance, strengthening muscles, and building confidence to prevent falls. Tai Chi is a low-impact exercise that can be performed almost anywhere. Come experience a 24 step form of Tai Chi taught by talented volunteer, David Johnson.

Students are invited to attend free GED classes. Review English, social studies, science, essay writing and math skills in preparation for the GED test. Materials are provided. Classes are open to students 16 years and older who are not currently enrolled in high school. For students 16-17, a notarized consent waiver form is required. Children Reading to Dogs

Reluctant readers, emergent readers, and readers who just need more practice can sharpen their reading skills by reading to a Certified Therapy Dog and their owner. Reading to a dog is a great way to practice reading aloud; the dogs and their owners are an uncritical audience. Studies show that kids gain confidence and their reading scores improve when they practice reading aloud to dogs. Kids can bring their own book or choose one from our shelves. History Book Club

Reduxion Theatre presents: Love's Labour's Lost by William Shakespeare
